1The Karate Punch - Choku tzuki (direct/straight punch)
In this video lesson, you will learn the basic Karate 'straight' punch and have opportunity to practice and improve.

2Basic blocking - Soto uke (middle block)
In this video lesson, you will learn a basic and much used beginner Karate 'middle' block and have opportunity to practice and improve. This block will be useful in your basic sparring later on.

3Basic stance - Heiko dachi (ready/practice stance)
In this final video lesson from Part 1 of our course, you will be introduced to your most important beginner stance, Heko dachi. This position is used for practicing basic te waza (hand technique) including punches, strikes, blocks, while building core strength, leg connection, etc. in a relatively simple to learn (difficult to master) position.

4Your basic combat stance - Kihon dachi
In this video lesson, you'll learn the fundamentals of your combat karate stance, kihon dachi. This position can be modified in many ways for kata and sparring however the basic position is best in the beginning.

52 new blocks - Age uke (rising) and Gedan uke (abdomen)
Welcome back to lesson 5. In this guided video session, you'll learn two new blocks, a little more advanced but well within your capabilities. These blocks will help you protect against head and abdomen attacks.
As with earlier content, this guided session is ideal for beginners.

6It's time to move -
In lesson 6, we explore the basics of footwork/movement with a simple step. Easy to follow along.
